A Trip to Belgium

Made by brothers, Ibrahim and Ahmed from Syria, this is an account of Ibrahim’s trip from ‘The Jungle’ refugee camp in Calais to Belgium. Originally from Halib in Syria, Ahmed and Ibrahim were residents of the camp in September – November 2015. Ibrahim recounts his experience hiding under the axle of a lorry, which he thought was bound for Britain. In fact, it was going to Belgium. When he finally arrived, he had to turn around and come back again! In class, Ahmed told us that Ibrahim had made it to the UK, he was downcast at losing his best friend but also pleased he’d finally got there.
